Paintings

Originally trained as a painter, I have continued to explore the interplay of light, water, climate and landscape through photography and painting. Most recently, I have started to paint in oil and acrylic on aluminium and stainless steel. These paintings are extremely robust given that metal is much more stable than linen, canvas or paper when paint is applied to it. They can even be hung outdoors and in other challenging spaces since heat, light and moisture do not effect them.

 

These two-dimensional pieces range in size from 25 x 10 cm up to 1.25 m x 50 cm but are still light in weight. Most are land and sea scapes but it is the essence of light and lightness in nature that I am interested in capturing.
