Balance
The
University
of
Bradford
Commissioned
by
the
University
of
Bradford
through
Public
Arts
Wakefield,
the
sculpture
and
associated
signage
mark
the
main
entrance
to
the
University
and
form
the
back-drop
to
many
graduation
photographs.
The
etched
images
reflect
the
different
areas
of
study
that
are
dominant
at
Bradford
and
were
suggested
by
staff
and
students.
Given
the
24
hour
nature
of
the
site,
robust
construction
and
lighting
are
important
elements
of
the
piece.
The
reflective
qualities
of
the
polished
surfaces
were
designed
to
work
with
the
lighting
and
extend
the
visual
interest
of
the
sculpture.
In
stainless
steel
and
bronze
with
a
4.5
metre
diameter.
